MINDS CDT students launch Edlan AI consultancy start-up

Published: 9 May 2023

We are thrilled to announce that three students from the MINDS CDT PhD programme at the University of Southampton have launched a brand new AI consultancy, Edlan. Alex Wang, Chris Subia-Waud, and Caterina Sbandati, have combined their expertise in AI to create a student-startup that will help businesses improve the efficiency of their processes. Edlan's unique approach is grounded in the latest research and best practices in AI, and they are committed to providing bespoke solutions that are tailored to each client's specific needs.

As students of the MINDS CDT programme, Alex, Chris, and Caterina have undergone rigorous training in AI and related fields. Their experience in the programme has undoubtedly given them a solid foundation to build on, and we have no doubt that they will be a valuable partner to any organisation looking to leverage the power of AI.

Prof Rob Maunder, Impact Co-ordinator for the MINDS CDT, commented that "the MINDS CDT is in its fourth year now and as the first cohorts approach graduation, it is fantastic to see our students applying the skills and expertise they have developed into entrepreneurial endeavours."

Alex Wang, CEO of Edlan, commented that "The MINDS CDT has provided an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse group of experts in the field of AI. This experience has been invaluable in helping us develop a deep understanding of the latest AI techniques and how they can be applied to real-world business problems. We are passionate about utilising the latest and most innovative approaches to help businesses optimise their operations, reduce costs, and improve their overall performance. Whether you're looking to improve quality or minimise resource consumption, we're here to help you achieve your goals with expert guidance and support".
